The open community FIWARE and the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) organized the workshop “The future of Open Governance & Innovation in Asian Cities”, during the StartmeupHK Festival 2019.

The event attracts world-renowned speakers, in interactive instruction sessions, hackathons and valuable talks of founders and investors in fintech, healthtech, smart city technologies, IOT, logistics and retail innovation, edtech and much more.

The aim of the workshop is to illustrate the impact that Open Governance and Open Innovation bring to smart cities, through the sharing of success stories all over the world, aimed primarily at policy and decision-makers, as opportunities for future collaboration with key stakeholders in Asia’s smart city ecosystems.

TeamDev, partner of FIWARE and member of the Board of Direction was invidet to present the use case developed for the city of Perugia, with the WiseTown platform powered by FIWARE.


FIWARE is an independent Open Community whose members are committed to implementing the mission of FIWARE, namely:

“to build a sustainable and open ecosystem around standards of public software platforms, free of rights and based on the implementation that will facilitate the development of new smart applications in multiple sectors. “

The FIWARE community is made up not only of those who contribute to technology (the FIWARE platform) but also of those who contribute to the construction of the FIWARE ecosystem and make it sustainable over time. FIWARE is the result of a flagship launched by the European Commission in 2010, in which the public and private sectors have invested 500 million USD.

The World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) is an international organization of cities and local governments that intend to promote and facilitate the transformation of cities into sustainable smart realities around the world. With a worldwide network of 146 members, it offers a wide range of activities, including capacity building programs with high-level smart city experts, matchmaking opportunities with public and corporate subjects for feasibility studies and pilot projects, and knowledge sharing and networking platforms. In particular, in 2019, WeGO will pursue a number of large-scale initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region.

WeGO was founded in 2010 and has its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea.
